What is a blog?

Short for weblog, a blog is typically a theme-based webpage created and maintained by a single person. Emphasis is placed on:

• frequent updates--weekly, daily, or even multiple times a day
• person approach to the theme--personal voice is critical
• reader comments/interaction--the audience is allowed, even expected, to participate in the blog.

Education-themed blogs tend to focus on a particular aspect--subject area/grade level, tech integration, trends, NCLB--and/or personal point of view on any and all of these. Increasingly, principals and school board members are using blogs to communicate with their communities.

So, that's what a blog is. Now, how does it work?
