Blogs - Starting Your Own Blog
Teachers as Bloggers
The best way to learn how to blog, to use blogs with your students, is to become a blogger yourself.
Getting Started
There are quite a few quality, free blog hosting sites out there. Because our focus is education, we will be going with edublogs.org, a free blog community for educators. Edublogs.org also provides educators with free wikis, so when you are ready to branch out you won't need a new host.
We will go over creating an Edublogs account during the workshop, but for those who want a jump start (or reminder), David Warlick has a great tutorial.
Your First Post
Now that the blog is created, your first post should be a quick introduction to yourself, include your name, number of years in education, subect areas/grade levels, research interests, and outside of school interests. Please include a little something about what brought you to this session.
Once you have created your own blog and introduced yourself, its time to start blogging.
